Colorado Springs Airport Starts 2018 Off Strong


Colorado Springs, CO – At the end of January, 2018, a total of 128,644 passengers traveled through the Colorado Springs Airport (COS), representing a 17.5 percent increase year over year from January, 2017. Frontier Airlines reported 18,944 passengers in year-to-date traffic, an increase of 63.6 percent from the previous year.

64,538 enplaned passengers and 64,106 deplaned passengers amount to a total of 128,644 passengers traveling through COS in January, an increase of 17.5 percent from January, 2017.

January’s year-to-date load factors (the percentage of seats filled with paying passengers) was down slightly at 2.7 percent from 2017. Delta reported an 82.2 percent load factor, followed by American at 81.7 percent, Frontier at 77.6 percent, United at 76.3 percent, and Allegiant at 54.5 percent.

COS currently serves 13 nonstop flights with 5 airlines. Service to Seattle, Washington, San Antonio, Texas, and an additional nonstop to Atlanta, Georgia begins April 8, 2018, with a new route to Minneapolis-Saint Paul, Minnesota beginning April 9.
