COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - Colorado Springs Airport (COS) accommodated 63,078 passengers in March 2017, an increase of 42.7 percent from March 2016.  The increase is mainly attributed to Frontier Airlines following their return to the airport in April 2016.  Frontier did not serve COS in March 2016.



The Colorado Springs Airport and Sky Sox Baseball along with 4 airlines have entered into an exciting partnership to offer fantastic trip giveaways during 12 weeks of the Sky Sox's 2017 season.

On March 10, 2017, American Airlines announced new nonstop service to Chicago from Colorado Springs. The service will be twice daily providing passengers direct easy access to one of American's nine global hubs. This new service will be operated on a dual-class, 70-seat CRJ-700 aircraft including 6 first class and 64 main cabin seats. Customers can enjoy inflight Wi-Fi, and food and beverage service. With this new announcement, 3 carriers will now provide nonstop service to Chicago from Colorado Springs.

On March 7, 2017, Frontier Airlines announced 7 new seasonal cities from COS. Nonstop service to Chicago O'Hare, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco and Washington D.C. begin this summer and service to Fort Myers and Tampa Bay begin this fall. These new cities are in addition to Frontier's current service to Las Vegas, Phoenix and Orlando from COS bringing the total destinations served by Frontier to 10.

In February 2017, Congressman Lamborn announced his sponsorship of a bill that would provide Colorado Springs Airport as well as seven other airports federal grants to help pay for advertising and start up costs for new air service.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) is pleased to announce that Uber, a Transportation Network Company (TNC), has executed an operating agreement with the Airport as of February 3, 2017 authorizing the company’s drivers to pick up and drop off passengers at COS effective immediately.

On January 30, 2017, Sierra Nevada Corp., a Nevada-based aerospace contractor, announced plans to build an additional hangar at the Colorado Springs Airport set for completion in September 2017. The 60,000 sq. ft. hangar will be used to provide maintenance and alterations on corporate and military aircraft.
