August 12, 2015- Colorado Springs Airport (COS) has been chosen by Global SuperTanker Services, LLC as the new operating base for the world’s largest firefighting tanker. Today, the company announced the completion of a definitive agreement to convert and operate Boeing 747-400 aircraft to be the fastest, longest-range, and most effective aerial firefighting platform in the world. President, Jim Wheeler stated, “The Colorado Springs airport is centrally located and has the ideal support infrastructure to allow immediate response to virtually any national or global emergency.”



Colorado Springs, Colo. - Moody's Investors Service will be maintaining the rating on the City of Colorado Springs Airport Enterprise's Airport System Revenue Bonds (Baa1), with the Airport’s outlook remaining STABLE. 

The stable outlook is based on Moody’s expectation that the airport will maintain sound debt service coverage with its lower debt burden and manage expenses to weakened enplanement trends. The airport expects no additional debt in the foreseeable future.
